![]() Honestly, wish I would’ve joined the Q&A Monday, I would’ve tried to ask a few to the director and even one to the mom! Definitely different character for her than her mega show billions. And Sabrina’s song at the end, I actually tried googling after to see if it had been released bc it’s good. Again the film is nothing groundbreaking but it works. The shots were beautiful and the whole film looks nice. Again, she’s 17, it can pass in this film and that’s really why I don’t hold it too much against the film but still these are just things to think about. We as the audience know why she’s hurting, but there is a little annoyance when character’s don’t self reflect. Something was missing and it could be fixed with better dialogue or another scene of just her in turmoil. The scene where she gets mad at Danny for painting her car, that should’ve been more powerful than what it was. Also, I personally would’ve loved more introspection from the MC. The god-loving mother who tries to save Sabrina, those scenes are good and progress the plot well so really after that it starts moving at a nicer pace but by then there’s only about 50 min left of screen time and that’s just not enough. The teenage kids taking over the abondoned house after her really accomplished nothing? It wasn’t scary, it was just out of place. Personally, when you have a run time of 1:34:00 you have to really use it wisely and I think a lot of it was wasted at the start. Also, while her foil Blue is a decent enough character, there was something missing between the two. And while the movie did a good job of I think not just trying to glorify homelessness but also show the pitfalls and dangers, it was really, really subdued. ![]() She’s a fantastic actress and she was really sidelined. I think they waited way too long to introduce Maggie Siff, her mom. I think she needs to work on her fake cry, but considering in the movie she’s supposed to be 17, it works but if she does want to be a drama actress, that emote needs to improve slightly, which I have no doubt it will.Īs for the movie itself, it’s nothing new and it’s very predictable but it’s good. She definitely grows into the character, as the opening scenes were not as strong IMO, but it did set the scene so whatever. The movie sinks without a great job from the lead actress and she did very well. ![]() Since this is a Sabrina thread, I will start with her performance, which carried the movie.
